"Resolving host" error -- router problem? - NETGEAR I'm using Comcast internet on my wndr3700v1 router. Every few hours whatever programs I'm running online stop working and every time I attempt to go to a new website I get "resolving host" on all browsers. This happens with ever computer connected to the router. A way to fix is it manually enter why did this fix my "resolving host" issue : HomeNetworking disable ipv6, add manual dns settings in ipv4 to 8 8 8 8, alternate being 8 8 4 4, after doing these the "resolving host" issue never came up again, no matter what site i visit, it was like magic. my question is, how and why did this fix the problem, what problem was i even having? was it really my isp or what? thanks you advance How to cure "resolving host" - August 2016 - Forums - CNET Aug 23, 2016
